I Can't Decide If This Is WAY Dorky Or Cool....

What price would you pay to cut your commute time? Ever wished you could just fly to work? Well guess what, that might just be a possiblity.

The Terrafugia, a flying car developed by a group of MIT graduates, passed a key regulatory hurdle this month when the FAA agreed it could be certified in the Light Sports Aircraft category.

The concept of a flying car has long caught the attention of wealthy commuters, pilots and engineers. Think about it. Every time a hedge fund manager finds himself stuck on the Washington DC Beltway or Long Island Expressway, the thought crosses the mind: "What if my car was like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?" or "We can put a man on the moon, so why can't I have a jet-pack to keep from wasting all this time?"

The first model, the Transition, is expected to be in full production next year. In the air, it will have a cruising speed of about 115 miles an hour, a range greater than 400 miles, and a 10,000-foot ceiling. On land, it will get about 30 miles to the gallon.

The Transition has been engineered to pass Federal
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration safety regulations to make it street legal, though it still has to pass those tests and be certified.

Would-be flyers of the contraption will need 20 hours of flying time.

Taking off and landing the Transition will require access to municipal airports. Though one would no longer need to pay for parking a car or renting a car once arriving.

Something about this just doesn't seem right.......

World's Most Expensive Shoes

Holy jesus! I never would have guessed that a pair of shoes could cost this much. Stuart Weitzman has broke the record at a whopping $2 million. The silver leather heels feature over 185 carats of tanzanite and 28 carats of diamonds. The front strap features a slim strap of diamonds but the heavy gemstones are designed to curve around the ankle with a 16 carat pear-shaped tanzanite drop surrounded by diamonds that dangles down over the top of the foot.
Man, you probably can't wear those out of the house. Make sure to get them insured!
I love shoes....the question is would I spend any amount on a pair of shoes? Unless I win the lotto something in the near future, even I have a shoe budget.....these won't be in my closet anytime soon. The $155,000 Eternal Borgezie Diamond Stilettos are pretty impressive. The shoes are handcrafted by a goldsmith and a jeweler sets the shoe with over 2,200 diamonds for a total of 30 carats. The shoes come with a 1,000 year guarantee. The red-soled shoes were designed by British jewelry designer Christopher Michael Shellis who spent three years working on the design.
Ummm, those probably won't be coming to the Nut House anytime soon.

Pack Your Bathing Suit

It's summer time and that means it's pool time. Nothing beats a beautiful pool at a fancy hotel. Before you book your tickets, take a look at this list.TripAdvisor just complied a list of the top ten most amazing hotel pools from around the world (as ranked by TripAdvisor editors and travelers). What makes a pool a top ranker? The view is a major factor, an infinity edge is a help, basically the pool has to transport the lucky swimmer into another world.
The higest rated was Hotel Caruso Ravello in Ravello, Italy shown above. The hotel is situated on top of the mountains on the Amalfi coast. The 11th century palace has a heated infinity pool that offers timeless views.
The Banyan Tree Seychelles, Mahe Island, Seychelles is situated on Intendance Bay and each of the 60 pool villas in Banyan Tree Seychelles has spectacular views of the Indian Ocean. The villas come equipped with verandas, sun loungers and open-air pavilions.

Blue Lagoon Clinic, Grindavik, Iceland. It can safely be said that this pool is like few others in the world. The pool is the key attraction at this hotel. Surrounded by a nearly lunar landscape, guests relax in warm geothermal seawater in the lagoon. You might have spotted Ali and the boys enjoying this pool on the most recent season of "The Bachelorette."

Como Shambhala Estate at Begawan Giri, Bali, Indonesia. This tranquil resort is surrounded by forests and pools are positioned to enhance the sense of perfect calm. The resort includes rock pools as well as an infinity pool that uses chlorine-free water from a nearby sacred spring.

The Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay in Oman contains 82 private pool villas, and also access to its own private marina. It is located on the northern Musandam Peninsula in the Sultanate of Oman and has mountains on one side and the sandy beach at Zighy Bay on the other.

Perivolas, Santorini, Greece. The infinity pool at Perivolas on Santorini is one of the most photographed hotel pools. Its enviable spot perched high on the cliffs above the Aegean Sea showcases jawdropping Aegean sunsets.
Hotel Atlantis, Nassau, Bahamas. At Atlantis there isn't just one pool to enjoy there are many to enjoy from adults-only pools with live DJs and outdoor gaming to a Mayan temple pool, grotto pool, lagoon pool, river pool and for the fitness-minded, a lap pool.
Hotel Villa Mahal, Kalkan, Turkey is located in Kalkan Bay, Turkey. The small hotel has an infinity pool with its own Jacuzzi and views over the Mediterranean.

The Library, Koh Samui, Thailand looks different than most pools. It's red rather than blue thanks to red mosaic tiles and is located just a few feet away from the white sandy beach of Chaweng.
Golden Nugget, Las Vegas, United States. The pool known as 'The Tank' is a home to sharks, exotic fish and other sea creatures. . The $20 million swimming pool offers the chance to swim with sharks from a safe distance. The massive pool has a 200,000-gallon shark tank, three-story waterslide and cabanas. The waterslide takes you right past the sharks and there is also a bar.
Hmm, where to go first......

A Birthday Card Worth Paying For

Most times, I hate buying cards....especially for people you're not that close to. Why should I pay $6 for something I'm just gonna write Happy Birthday in?!? Well, guess what American Greetings has finally come out with a card worth paying for. A card equipped with a special treat!

"Tasties" cards will feature a flavor strip that tastes like a cupcake to commemorate the occasion — what a fantastic idea!

Sweet, now you don't have to buy people birthday treats either. Hhahaah. That would suck!

Girl, Cleaned Up!

One girl has got what she deserved!! Elin Nordegren has bagged a $750 million settlement in her divorce from Tiger Woods in exchange for her silence about his numerous affairs. You can believe that?!?!? Someone must have some pretty dirty secrets! A source reveals:

"Elin is desperate to protect the children from the womanizing side of their father. Tiger's main fear is her telling her story after he's rebuilt his reputation, sending him back to the gutter. Elin's legal team have done a great job digging up all sorts of assets.

"The price of the huge sum is her silence: no interviews, tell-all books, or TV appearances about this for the rest of her life — even if Tiger dies first — or she'll lose the lot. Everything's signed. Elin is ready to file for divorce at Orlando County Court. She expects to in the next seven days."

Good for her!

As for the children, Elin will have sole physical custody of their kids Charlie and Sam, but they will split legal custody.

Tiger can see the kids for up to half of each week, but he is not allowed to bring any women that he is involved with around the children, unless he marries one of them.

Sounds like Elin got all the bases covered! Take that money and run, girlfriend!

Music For The Dogs

Ever wondered what type of music your dog likes? Well, set your worries aside, someone has figured this out for you. The Teikyo University of Science Department of Animal Science found that dogs prefer classical music with a twist!

After 18 months of research, scientists found that the best form of soothing sounds for dogs is a mixture of classical music infused with ambient noise, such as human conversations and other dog's barking.

And, your in luck because the researchers have joined forces with music label Hats Unlimited to bring you a full music CD called Dreams For Dogs for just $26......Or you could save your money, tune the radio to a classical music station and call your BFF for a quick convo.

Who buys this crap!?!

Design Your Own Shoes!!!

Why no one has done this earlier, I don't know! Ever walked into the store looking for a shoe and come out empty handed? Well, those days are over. You will have to plan ahead, but it is now possible to find the perfect shoe for the perfect outfit.
London designer, Upper Boutique, has now made it possible to design the shoes of your dreams. It won't set you back too much either. The only downside is that it takes 6 weeks for delivery.
First you pick out the style and decide on the cut. They have all sorts of cuts...pumps, peep toes, slingbacks. 7 cuts total. For, style they have strappy, bows, flowers, buckles....just to name a few. There are about 10 styles per cut. There are a bunch of different strap options. Slingback, wrap around the ankle, etc. Next, you explore materials, colors and finishes. The materials are plentiful. There's leather, suede, patent, snakeskin, metallic, animal prints, satin and bridal satin. I think they have just about ever color covered. I'm totally going with fuchsia suede. They even have rhinestones and studs for a little extra glam.
Next, keep your fingers crossed and try to distract yourself until the mail comes..

Well Traveled Shoes

Well, lord knows I love shoes. And I really love sandals. You can just throw em on and go. They are easy to walk in and can be worn to the beach or a party.
I really like that these sandals are well traveled too.
Created in 1933 by Mr. and Mrs. Keklikian Jacques, K. Jacques is authentic St. Tropez fashion. Still a family business today, the brand has three stores in St. Tropez and a boutique in the very chic Marais quarter of Paris.
These sandals have easy going summer written all over them!

Cool Art

Check out this cool artwork by Camila do Rosri0. She makes awesome drawings, tshirts and other prints. She's from Brazil. Her work is stunning.

Bionic Cat

Unbelievable proof of what modern science can do.

Check out this amazing video of Oscar, the world's first bionic cat! Poor little guy lost his legs, but biomedical engineers were able to fit him with metal pegs coated with a bone growth-promoting substance that fused together the metal and bone.

As you can see from the video above, Oscar is able do everything now that all his other cat friends can!

He's so cute! Congratulations on your new legs! Pretty fancy!

You Know You Have Too Much Time On Your Hands When.....

Ok, you know you have too much time on your hands when you decide to create colored BACON!!! We won't mention the recent oil spill....because we know people are out there creating amazing things like colored bacon. Graphic designer Neil Caldwell has created multi-colored delicious BACON that comes in blue, yellow, green, pink, purple, and red - and retains its color even after it's cooked! Seems pretty gross to me!!!

Don't worry, there are no plans to sell the bacon.....yet. This guys mom must be real proud.

Updated Uggs

I know that most of you think Uggs and think ugly (especially you gentlemen folk out there)....but until you try them you can't talk shit. I love my Uggs no matter what they look like. They are for all those times when you can't wear flip flops (which in CA is just a few days out of the year). Well, Ugg is coming out with some new fall boots and such. Here are some of my favs....
I know that most of you are probably groaning but I like em.
I think the light one is cuter, but these are still cool
They might already have this style out. I think they are just a taller version of the style they currently have.....or have a few extra buttons. Nice update from the basic ones. For all of you who aren't brave enough to wear the furry ones ;)

Skin Saver!!

As many of you know or may have noticed, my skin has been a wreck over the past year. I've tried keeping track of the products I use, stopped wearing makeup and prayed to the skin gods to make my skin better. It gets red, puffy, super dry, hurts and makes me totally embaressed. I've been to the doctor multiple times and no one really made things much better.
Well, just like everything else in life, my life was totally improved by an afternoon trip to Nordstrom. In the market for a new moisturizer (and not super happy with the one I was currently using), the sales woman suggest Kinerase. I recognized the bottle, an ad with Courtney Cox comes to mind....
I didn't have high expectations, I was just looking for something that wouldn't the situation any worse. After a few days of using a sample nothing new erupted on my face. I went back and purchased the full size. I did have a bit of sticker shock but at least the bottle wasn't teeny tiny.
A few weeks later, my skin looks great! I've been breaking out less, haven't had much dry skin and BEST of all I've been pretty much able to stop using my 2% cortisone. I really am ecstatic! This product has really changed my life. I am SO happy to have come across it.
The power behind Kinerase is Kinetin (N6-furfuryladenine), a plant-based antioxidant whose anti-aging properties were discovered when scientists found that it prevented plant leaves from drying out and withering.
I'm a little embarrassed to admit this but this cream is recommended for post-procedure faces, including after chemical peels, laser resurfacing or microdermabrasion. Does that give you an idea of how sensitive my skin is?!?!? If you skin is sensitive give Kinerase a try!! I hope it changes your life too :)

Designer Dimples

You may or may not know who Cheryl Cole is, but I'm sure you can tell that she has beautiful dimples. It may or may not be related to the fact that she's been in the news a lot lately (messy divorce), but there's a new trend in plastic surgery......Dimpleplasty.
Can you believe that?!?!!
Surgeons cut into the skin to make a small indentation and then stitch it to the backside to hold it in place. Over time the surface will dissolve and permanent scar tissue will remain.
OUCH!!
Doctors are warning that man made dimples won't look completely natural (duh!!) and the long term effects of the surgery are unknown. One surgeon explained that the designer dimples are akin to permanent scarring and could turn into a designer disaster as the face begins to droop with age.
Ummm! Gross!

Smell Like Hello Kitty

Sanrio has teamed up with Demeter Fragrance Library (they create those perfumes that smell like everyday stuff....cake batter, martini, cut grass, etc) to create 3 unique scents. Haven't you always wondered what Hello Kitty smelled like?!?
They say this one smells like apples, red, green and yellow. Inspired by the fact that Hello Kitty is 3 apples tall. This one smelled good but wasn't something I'd wear.

My Melody smells like almond and vanilla. I found this scent to be way too sweet. I didn't really like it.
Little Twin Stars' smells like citrus. This is the one that I liked best out of the three.

Because Oil Isn't Cute

Sanrio must be getting desperate. Has anyone ever requested cuter oil???

Fur Like Other Fur

People do wacky shit to their animals, myself included. I think this nearly takes the cake....
To celebrate the opening of a new dog park in Dahe Mincui Park in Zhengzhou (China), these people dressed their dogs up like other furry creatures.
I love this one!! They look like mini pandas!!! Good to know there are people out there crazier than me ;)

Now This Is A House!

Wow!!!! Now this is my kinda house.
Located in beautiful Maui, it was owned by Richard Chamberlain....don't worry I don't know who that is either.
The home is on a gated half-acre in Wailea with more than 100 feet of beach frontage......Talk about prime real estate!
It has a spa and screening room, a two-bedroom carriage house and a main living area which opens out to the patio.
There are two master suites, a formal dining room, atrium, library, media room and chefs kitchen.
I really like the subtle Asian theme of this house. A little Asian, a little island. Just like me!
The house is understated and let's the beauty of the surroundings really show.
Beautiful wood through out the whole house.
Now, THAT's my kinda backyard.
Now, if I could just come with $19 million.......
