Vintage Love Cost Stacks Of Money

I woke up Monday morning really excited to see what Free People's "Vintage Loves" had in store. From the video teaser, I knew there'd be some good stuff. And indeed there was.
You all know I will throw gobs of money out for really random stuff. But the prices on this stuff is just insane! On the low end there are things for $100 but on the high end, things like the moccasins above are $1000.
To make matters worse, this stuff can not be returned. Because they are selling it online, you won't be able to try it on either.
Does this make sense to anyone?!!?! I have to say I am very disappointed in Free People. You would think when you pay $400 for a lace vest that you would at least be able to try it on and return it if it didn't fit.
I think I'll take the risk and hit Haight Street an my mom's closet to see if I can find any of this stuff.
Beautiful stuff, but MAJORLY disappointed. Won't be buying this stuff :(

Free People- August 2010

Loving the new August Free People catalog. Can't wait to get my shop on. This catalog was shot in Morocco. The clothes this month remind me of a vagabond gypsy. Beautiful!

May @ Free People

Yay! The Free People May catalog drops tomorrow, but everything pretty much came out today (needless to say, my order is already in.....www.freepeople.com). This month, instead of using models, they decided to use girls that work for them. I think it's a great idea! These are the women that make Free People what it is. They make the decisions of what's in and out each month. I think it's great that the company appreciates the ladies that work there.
I also think it's cool to see the clothes on real people. Sometimes, when I try on FP clothes, I wonder if they kept us "real girls" in mind (I mean not too many of us successfully wore the "Desert Maxi"). They girls look like they could have rolled out of bed and put these outfits together.
This months clothes, definitely have a tribal feel. Lots of bold patterns. Popular colors were coral and white....these colors look great with the military green that's in style. I would dare to say it's hippy safari chic this month.
Who knows what next month will bring ;)

My Free People Obesssion

So as I've mentioned many times before, I have a bit of a Free People obsesion. I love the relaxed, hippy, DIY vibe of their clothes. If I had enough time I would love to make clothes like this (maybe in my next life). Well, until then I will continue to purchase their clothes. Here are all of my reviews to help you get a better idea of what works and what doesn't. I am a big believer in clothes needing to be wearable and work for many body types. If I wouldn't wear it, I wouldn't recommend it! Get an idea of what will work for YOU: http://www.freepeople.com/profile/AhisMom
